The Time is Now
We know, we know another HR-related blog. Dare we say this one will be different? There are a plethora of blogs out there which discuss new vendor offerings, HR trends and provide insights on HR issues. Yet how many blogs focus on what is happening in the Asia Pacific region? Our answer is far too few.
While we are interested in insights from the United States and Europe, we want to know what is happening here in Asia. Nothing annoys us more than when we come across what is meant to be a global perspective and the data provided on Asia is confined to Australia, China and Japan. This one-size-fits all approach misses out on the economic, political, cultural and hr diversity of countries within the region.
When we began the Cape Group way back in 2004, one of our goals was to provide an Asia Pacific perspective on human capital. To an extent, we succeeded in doing this through our client work and by publishing white papers, reports, and hosting forums. We are constantly monitoring what is happening within the Asian HR sphere, engaging with companies, talking about issues and successes, getting to know who the vendors are and what they do. Our limitation has been sharing this knowledge with a wider audience. And that’s where social media comes into play. This past year we started tweeting to test the waters. The next step for us is Cape Viewpoint, a new avenue for us to share news and insights on what is happening in the Asian human capital space.
This is a group blog and our voices are as varied as the Asian countries where we live and work. We have no affiliations with any vendors and always aim to keep our viewpoint our own. We hope you will continue to follow us and share with us your own insights.
